County Criminal Background Search

Employment Screening using county criminal background checks: Since as many as 30% of county arrest and criminal records are never reported to the various states, this search is the key to conducting a thorough check of the applicant’s criminal history.

In particular, charges that are pleaded down significantly, adjudication withheld, no contest, probation completed successfully, or domestic or family court charges many times are simply not reported to the state criminal records repositories.

When a search is ordered for a particular county, a court researcher actually goes to the county courthouse to conduct a manual search of the records of the clerk of the court. This search contains the most detailed, accurate, and up to date criminal information and will provide a minimum of 7 years of criminal history. Additional years are usually two dollars more for each year beyond seven years. Additional court access fees may sometimes apply.
