The following states are not included or provide limited information in the multi-state criminal background check:

However, for example, California and Illinois provide records from only about 50% of the counties in the state but since these include the largest and most populous counties as many as 80% of the criminal records are actually included in the results.

Nationwide Criminal Search
This search provides results from all available criminal and national security databases. Currently about 44 states supply this data. These reports do not include all data from every county in the reporting states.

The results of this search typically do not include any details of the reported offense. It is recommended that any results obtained from this search be confirmed through a County Criminal Search, which will also provide a greater level of detail. To ensure complete compliance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act, all criminal records found are subject to a further investigation and verification.
