Lenders and Mortgage Brokers participating in Federal sponsored mortgage lending are required to include a check of certain Federal Registries as part of their employment background checks.

In that connection, we have developed a special background check that meets all of these requirements.

  • Social Security Number address history trace and SSN Verification

  • Multi-State (National) criminal background check

  • County criminal search of all counties of residence based on applicants last 7 years address history.

  • Federal criminal record search of all United States District Court jurisdictions based on applicants last 7 years address history

  • 50 state Sex Offender Registry search

  • OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control / Homeland Security / Government Exclusions Lists including the following: SAM, HUD – LDP (Limited Denial Of Participation), Freddie Mac Exclusion List, and Federal Housing Finance Agency SCP)

It also includes a check of the additionally required Federal records watch lists indicated below.

  • SAM is the official U.S. government system that consolidated the capabilities of the Central Contractor Registry (CCR), Federal Agency Registration (FedReg), Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA), and Excluded Parties List System (EPLS).

  • HUD Limited Denial of Participation List (LDP)

  • Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) Suspended Counterparty Program (SCP) List (for lenders originating Freddie Mac loans)
